Gary Monnin is President of Hause Monnin Consulting in Austin, Texas.  He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.  He began his actuarial career after graduation from Colgate University in 1971, and subsequently, attained his Masters Degree in Actuarial Science from Northeastern University.

 

For the first 16 years of his career, Gary worked for State Mutual Life Assurance Company, Great Southern Life Insurance Company, and American Founders Life Insurance Company.  Following that, he has been in consulting.

 

Gary has been involved in all aspects of life and health insurance work with particular emphasis on the financial side.  He has priced life, health, and annuity products for a number of companies and self-funded plans.  In the self-funded area, he has been involved in pricing benefits, performing financial and rate analyses, and assisting in reinsurance negotiations.

 

Other than consulting for companies and self funded plans, Gary Monnin also performs regulatory consulting, working with state insurance departments and state Guaranty Associations.

 

He has also performed expert witness testimony in a number of life and health related situations.

 

Gary Monnin's actuarial background is strong but he also has a very strong business sense.  This business background combined with his technical experience has allowed him to perform profitability analyses on a number of companies and plans.

 

Gary is a past President of the Actuaries' Club of the Southwest.

 

Gary has excellent communication skills and is able to explain complex issues in understandable terms.

Jeff Yeatman, ASA, MAAA

Jeff Yeatman began his career in 1990 as an actuary at American National Life Insurance Company after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Actuarial Science.  After nine years with American National, he joined Citizens Insurance Company of America where he assumed the role of Appointed Actuary and would later be named Chief Actuary.  In 2002, he joined Hause Monnin Consulting (formerly G.P. Monnin Consulting) as a consultant and performs actuarial consulting in the life and health insurance areas.

 

Jeff's areas of expertise include the pricing and product development of both life and health insurance products, reserving and financial reporting, and health insurance rate filings.  In addition, Jeff has considerable experience in the analysis of self-funded health plans, and the analysis of GASB 45 liabilities for public entities.  Jeff has also participated in more than twenty financial examinations on behalf of state insurance departments and public accounting firms.
